Now wait a second... I remember reading the original booklet and what-not. I remember playing ALL of the Metal Gear games to present (with the exception of ACID), and never ONCE did I SEE or HEAR about this guy during gameplay! Does anyone know ANYTHING about this guy besides what was in the booklet? Just wondering...

I'm certain his name is mentioned when the colonel goes nuts near the end of MGS2. though I haven't played it in a few years...

Ultra Games' manual writer was on crack. What he wrote in the manuals had NOTHING to do with the games.

Then the same writer also did the 'Snake's Revenge' manual. The main bad guy in that game is called "Higharolla Kockamamie". Is that seriously the name they wanted?
That's supposed to be Big Boss' real name too. Ugh! He's no "Kockamamie" (or Ness).

In addition, the really crude drawings of Solid Snake and John Turner in the booklet were switched around. Such poor bookletmanship.

...
I should also point out that the original 'Metal Gear' mentions some guy named "Commander South", who apparently is also not in the game.

Maybe we just shouldn't read instruction manuals.
