I was just messing around and put in my Zelda for NES in with the Game Genie, put it the code where you never take damage. well, after about 20 or 30 mins of me playing it like that, the code just stoped working and the monsters could hurt me again. so I just wanted to know if this has happen to anyone else or if somehow the code has a time limit or somethin' crazy like that?

yeah, I got to save all the stuff I got done with the code since it stoped working and I died somehow. so I got alot done. I got from level one to level 5 in about 45 mins of game play. on the file where I dont cheat it took me about 3 or 4 hours total of game play.

I just got done useing my Game Genie again with Zelda and this time I played for about an hour and the cheat didnt stop working. hmm, thats odd but it seems like whatever was wrong is fixed. but if it happens again I'll post back here. I'd still like to know if anyone else has had this happen to them. thanks

Until now I only used cheats in emulators and I can say, I didn't have any problems.
But I also have to say, I never played 45 minutes at a time wuth cheats on. :?

I normally dont cheat, but I just got my Game Genie the other day and thought I'd give it a spin.

Hopefully you have a Magic Shield. That alone will help you immensely. I think you can get 'em for about 90 rupees. If you need to use your boomerang to stun an enemy. That helps too. Just take your time and don't try to just run there if you're having problems.

yeah I got the Magic Shield and White Sword and the Boomerang and all that good stuff. isnt there another shield I can get before I goto Level 5? ...I cant remember, its been so long since I played this game. I think I keep getting small details mixed between Zelda for NES and Zelda: A Link to the Past for SNES.

No, I'm pretty sure the Magic Shield is your only shield in the game (besides the tiny one). Which one is dungeon 5 anyway? Is that the one where you keep walking up in that semi-maze deal... or is it the one by the graveyard?

the one where you go up the stairs (the semi-maze) four times.

yeah, I was thinking I was mixing the two Zelda games up. Zelda rules all. the only Zelda games I havent played are on the Game Cube. after I get my SNES stuff squared away I hope to change all that though.

Have you found the power braclet yet? If so you can warp to near dungeon 5 by going 2 screens right from the beginning and pushing one of the blocks to reveal a secret staircase. That should solve the problem of getting beaten up on the way there.
