Well, I have 3 weeks with nothing to do, so I've decided to whip my old dead NES out and completely pimp it! I plan to get a new 72 pin, do the Lock-out chip removal, overclock it, do the stereo sound mod, repaint it, and get some nice leds for the game slot and vents. Yep, I'm going all out!

Only problem is, I'm not the greatest when it comes to electronics knowlege, most of the mods don't seem to difficult and I've found some decent guides, but the one I'm stuck on, is the leds. I'm just wondering where I should attach them for power, and if theres anything else I need to keep in mind.

Also, will any of these interfere with each other? I'm just hoping the nes could handle the drag on the power, but I could always substitute one mod if it becomes a problem.

Thanks for your time,

James

if you dont get a reply here, and ONLY if you dont get a reply here (im not into advertising to take people away from forums) you could try the gamesx forums.. i could help you, but im not well at the moment, and i know youll need more help than you think. dont be discouraged though, it isnt a hard mod, like you say, but with little/no knowlege, itll take a bit of time for you to work out how the leds work properly.

I dont think the mods will interfere, however, I know nothing about the stereo mod. Everything else is fairly straightfoward.

As far as the LEDs go I think it's fairly straightfoward. I'm sure there is a doc out there for that, I dont know.

A bit of advice. If you're not skilled at soldering get somebody who is. These are very small soldering points and easy to mess up. and make sure you have a good soldering tip.
