Please tell me people have heard of both bands. If not, heres the story.
Horse the Band is a hard core band that call themselves "Nintendo-Core". They sing songs about Nintendo games. Like their most widely-heard song, Cutman, about Megaman's nemisis, Cutman. The song "Big Blue Violence" is about F-zero's Captain Falcon. The rest of the songs are hard to figure out what games they are about. I love this band.
But I love the Advantage more. They do covers of old nintendo songs. Here is the tracklist of their most recent album.
Megaman 2 - Flashman Double Dragon 2 - Stage 2 Goonies 2 Bubble Bobble Bubble Bobble - Shark Skeleton Wizards and Warriors - Intro Bomberman 2 Bionic Commando - POW Camp Super Mario Bros. 2 - Underworld Super Mario Bros. 2 - Overworld Contra - Snowfields Zelda - Fortress Batman 2 Megaman 3 - Dr Wiley Stage Double Dragon 2 (story and boss music) Castlevania 3 - Epitaph Ninja Gaiden - Mine Shaft Mario 3 - Underworld Blastermaster - Stage 2 Ghosts 'n' Goblins - Intro Ghosts 'n' Goblins Castlevania - Stage 3 Marble Madness Metal Gear - Jungle Contra - Boss Music Castlevania 3 - Evergreen
The music is beautifully played. The drummer is the guitarist from Hella (if you have heard the music, they are very talented).
Anyone who has heard of either, tell me.

Somebody just mentioned the band The Advantage to me the other day, but I haven't got around to looking their stuff up yet. I have heard one song by the Mini-Bosses, and it didn't sound too bad. Also, there is a band in my home town called Stood Up. They don't do Nintendo songs exactly, but they do a song called My Final Fantasy. They're a pretty talented group of individuals. http://robertlbryant.com

I just heard The Mini-bosses. They are no where near as talented as The Advantage. Compare the Castlevania 1 Stage 3 song to the Advantage's.

Just checked out the Advantage band, and they are definately better than the Mini-Bosses. Do they have more songs available than what is on their site? I couldn't find the CastleVania you were talking about. Here's what I found: http://theadvantageband.com/mp3/ http://robertlbryant.com

Yeah, I love the Advantage. VERY technical. They played close to here a month or two ago. A bunch of friends went, but I had class. WEAK! Maybe next time they're in the area I can see 'em.
