My friend on another board needs help. Heres the question:
I just got a 24" Samsung flatscreen T.V. with s-video and component inputs. Here's the problem: When I plug in my old systems which use RF outputs (NES, Genesis, Turbo Grafix) the picture jitters slightly. I tried to solve the problem by passing the RF signal through my VCR with no luck. I called samsung tech support and spoke with a few people who knew nothing until I finally reached an engineer. His verdict? The T.V. is a newer digital model, and the signal is analog, and hence the old systems don't work well with the newer technology. This answer is a load of bulls***. I have hooked up my NES to comparable Sony and Toshiba flatscreen televisions before without any apparent issues.
So, my question is: Are there RF to RCA adapters that I could buy that might solve my problem, or should I drag my NES to Best Buy and demand to test the RF on similar flatscreen TVs until I find one that works well, and exchange mine for it. I am still within the initial 30 day window, and although I really don't want to go through the hassle of exchanging what seems to be an otherwise excellent TV, I really need a tube where I can play my favorite old games on without annoying image problems.
