Ive got two Gyromite carts, one has no serial/identification number (NES-XX-XXX), and the other simply says CAN.

One is the older style 5 screw, no hinge type cart. The other is the standard 3 screw with hinges.

Ive opened up both carts and they seem to have the same PCB layout. All the same chips in all the same places. But, the game itself is diffrent. There are certain graphical differences between the two.

Would most of you, from a collecting point of view consider these two carts to be the same thing (doubles), or two seperate games?

The difference between the two is the one with 5 screws was the first template for an NES cartridge, while the 3 screw one was for the second template (also note the security screws they used through N64). I checked through my collection, and my Hogan's Alley also lacks the code (NES-XX-XXX), so your game was probably one of the earliest releases, as my other games with the old design have the designation. As for graphical differences...that seems very peculiar, it could just be their cleanliness. My SMB/DH/WCTM 3 pack cart had an odd issue with green bricks which was cleaned up after a scrubbing.

Not just colors are diffrent, actual pieces of graphics are changed.

If I had some kind of capture card I could show you what I mean. I had two monitors and two NES's hooked up, so I could see first hand what was diffrent.

Playing Gyromite on two seperate systems at the same time makes my R.O.B dance like a mad fool! Its great!
