I fail to see why people should "trade up" like they (the nintendo corporation) would want you to. This is probably why I feel reluctant to buy things right when they come out; they always have a way of making it "better" when they should have done it in the first place. Basically what I'm saying is "whoopty f*ck, so what if it has a brighter screen".

I think they should've made it brighter earlier, but it did need it.

I was playing a GBA while riding in the car during the daytime not to long ago, and I was having problems seeing the screen. I tried switching the backlight on and off, but it didn't help any. It seems that it wasn't the best backlit screen that it could've been. I've read what people who have gotten have said, and they say that it's actually really good, and everything has much more clarity to it.

Most likely the biggest downside to this is battery-life. I would expect that it eats more batteries than what you would like. Most of the time that I play it though, I'm right next to a wall socket or car lighter. I'd say it's a good idea that should've been implemented earlier.

Thats probably your problem. The GBA SP Didn't Use a Backlit screen.

Backlight, sidelight... you know what I mean ;) At any rate, I feel it is something that needed to be done.

well, with more screen light power its just gonna drain the Battery more, that power has to come from somewhere!

Eureka, I've figured it out! Nintendo has teamed up with the battery industry to make us use more batteries and that is probably the true reason they added the backlight (the battery company probably gives Nintendo a kick back for it). They probably could find a way to make it use less battery power, but they won't.

It's just like the Kool Aid and the USA clothing industry alliance. (I thought this one up at work one day) Bear with me on this (though not totally relevent to the thread; we all sometimes have to wander off the prim rose path). Kool Aid makes red Kool Aid, and I'm sure all of you have found out that once that stuff hits your clothing (or linoleum), your a goner. Most likely your not going to get that stuff out. I don't care if you pre soak, chances are you just made a new rag. But they don't have to make it that horrible, staining red. I worked with this lady from New Zealand. They don't sell red Kool Aid there, it's all clear! So they purposely sell red Kool Aid here to either ruin you'res or your childs clothing .

So, I tend to think that we are all duped into spending more money.

You're all probably thinking I should leave the house today... but it's raining so you'll have to bear with me for the day.
