i think i read in the forums that a genesis controller would work with a atari. i tried tonite with my 7200 because my controllers are shot. the directional pad would work but none of the buttons would. i tried the thee and six button style contollers. does the gen controller only work with the 2600 or what. any info would be helpfull. thanks

The genesis controllers work perfectly good with a 2600.
The 7200 controller has the same wiring scheme as a 2600, EXCEPT in the buttons, so that would explain why only the D-PAD works.
