Shadow of the colossus is an Awesome game, its just so incredible. theres only 16 enemies well then get something like Prince of PErsia the sands of time, or something.

Kingdom Hearts is very recommended. A friend of mine loves it.
There's of course Dragon Quest 8, the Final Fantasy games, Soul Calibur 3 and too many more to list them here.

I'd wait until the PS3 comes out and just buy that and a ps2 controller. It's backwards compatible all the way and you won't have to buy memory cards. Just have plenty of cash on hand...

ohh were should i start for ps2 games.........
-Umm rpgs u should go with ffx ffx-2 dragon quest , (if u want a good gagillion hour rpg thats SO MUCH FUN I LUVE IT TA BITS u should get Star Ocean :till the end of time Dirctors cut {u can unlock 2 player} and then kingdom hearts whicth was aceptable ( im only naming this cuz everybody except me loved it lol)
-Shooters: Battlefield 2 (SOOOO GOOD I PLAY IT EVERYDAY) Splinter Cell (best co-op ever), Resident Evil 4, Medal gear solid 2 n 3, and i really like Half Life (perty sun), and if you play online Socom 1 ,2 ,3 are a must have
-sports: whatever floats ur boat but i recomend getting gt 4 because its a game that every ps2 owner is obligated to have
-Then theres God Of War (f-ing awesome), Prince of persia 1 ,2 ,3 (i luv 1 and 2 and am hoping to save some money to get 3), soul caliber 3
- then theres the games like DDR ( amust have) and katamri damancy and everybody loves katamari that are PERFECT if ur under illegal substances, have the brain span of less the 5 seconds or a combination of both :D
