before turning on your SP with an original GameBoy game in it, try holding the button combos to give the game a different color scheme....

down = pinkish/yellowish/orangish weird color
down+A = orange
down+B = yellow
right = green
right+A = dark green
right+B = inverted.... this one is awesome!
up = brown
up+A = red
up+B = dark brown
left = blue
left+A = dark blue
left+B = gray

kinda stupid really. but pretty cool when you're bored 8)

Not exactly... You can use the color changing screen when you press L and R together but it doesn't work like you said

You can also do this trick with the first GBA.

Practically all the GameBoy's (Except Micro) That have Color, GBC, GBA, GBA SP

DS is not a GameBoy so I can't Include it, It doesn't play GB or GBC games any way...
