Japanese sources: http://plusd.itmedia.co.jp/games/articles/0512/26/news046.htmlhttp://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20051226-00000032-zdn_g-sciNintendo announced on Dec 26th, that they have sold over 5 million units of the DS already. In 14 months. PS2 needed 17 months to sell that amount, which makes the DS the fastest selling machine in videogame history. (So said Mr. Iwata, CEO of Nintendo Japan) 4 games are million sellers. -Nintendogs (1.08 million copies in Japan, over 1 million in the US and Europe) -Animal Crossing (1.27 million copies in Japan) -Gentle Brain Exercises (1.08 million copies) -Train your brain (1.38 million) (I own 3 of the 4, yeah 8) ) I think it's nice to see that stuff is selling so well. That gives hope for many new good games to come.

Sweet. With the WI-FI games out and other good games in the upcoming the NDS sales will sky rocket. Who knows the NDS might sell more systems then the PS2.

If you look at it this way though; a PS2 (on debut) was a bit more spendy than the DS (on debt). http://www.myspace.com/jennikisaI need friends.... I had to nix Tom. He wasn't really my friend. His smile "mocked" me.

That's good news. I remember reading in many papers and magazines about how they were predicting the DS would flop, but it's done well.

Ha! I remember worrying about Sony cashing in on Nintendo's market. Considering the PSP itself, they very well might have. Except, of course, for the fact that they seem unable to make consistently good games for it.

Edited the headline. Yahoo reported on Jan 4th that Nintendo's stocks rose for 4 days in a row. But that's not the point. Nintendo said that they sold over 10 million units of the DS already, over 5 million of those in Japan. :D Nintendo DS is sold out practically everywhere in Japan and won't be available until the end of January. http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20060104-00000007-tcb-biz
