ok it has been bothering me and a friend for a month or so.
we keep talking about the game so i decided to finnaly sign up to a form (THIS ONE)
and ask someone if they know the name of this game :)

here is what i remember about the game

you are a ghost and u hant things in the house (such as the toaster the oven table, almost anything)just to scare the owners out of the house.
so you take over the stuff in the house to haunt it and scare away people....

I've never played this game, but that question get asked every months at the GameFAQs Genesis board. :P

In Haunting, you're trying to scare the family of a sleazy skateboard company president out of a house. You're Polterguy, a green dude, and you hop into ordinary objects to "load them" with a scare. You have a "life bar", which you fill up by scaring a family member out of a room and collecting the ectoplasm left behind.

If you run out of ectoplasm, you fall into a wierd, graveyard-like place and you have to grab ectoplasm while dodging hands popping out of walls and various other obstacles.
