I got a couple of NES games that are in horrible shape (i think we all do!). I was just wondering about some mods for the cartridge itself? (LED's, Plastic windows, 2 games combined?, that kind of stuff) Any awesome ideas??

Hey it might not be that bad... if you had the see through window on the console and the LED only came on with the NES.

I agree, If you do have a windowed or clear nes system then a light mod may not be that odd of an idea...after all you already have a window on your NES I'm sure stealing power off a cart couldn't be that bad. The bad part would be making it so that the light shines outside of the cart, ie. make the cart have a window...i suppose that you could just have the prototype 'window' which is just a hole in the casing. put a nice rubber grip on the cart for when you're pulling a game out of a new 72pinner

Thank you! I wouldn't have even considered it if I didn't have like 10 carts that look like crap. I still am planning on doing this, I just have too many projects going on at once right now. I want to do something better than a simple LED, but I don't know what :?

Well, not in half, I was gonna cut out one side of the cart allowing room to put a FC cart inside the NES cart with it looking the same while it is in the NES. Too confusing? I barely know what I meant :?

But you should also know that there is no standard size for Japanese carts. Only thickness and length are the same, because if not they won't fit into the machine any more. Many carts are higher than the usual ones and some have weird shapes, i.e. they get thicker from abour 3 cm over the connectors. (I hope you can understand what I mean... :( )

I'm a great photographer, and I have a $5000 camera. ;)

[/quote] Yeah, thats basically what I had in mind :( .... The only way to do it would be to cut out both faces of the cart, making it EXTREMELY flimsy, and I don't even know if that would do it.... Oh well, Thanks
