They certainly sell better than Metal Gear Solid. I believe Hideo Kojima got pissy recently because of MGS3's poor sales. Of course, Hideo Kojima does have the ego the size of a planet.

If it was that easy. The last Mario games didn't sell that well. Sunshine was a big disappointment (in therms of sales) all over the world. I don't know that much about Pokemon, but those aren't in the high sales ranks in Japan either (at this point of time). Also, I wouldn't compare hardware with software. People all over the world still believe Sony products are good. No matter how crappy products they may deliver (some buzzwords are "rootkit", "defect PS2s" and stuff). The PS2 could easily sell for 99$/Euro, but they still ask 160 Euro for it in Germany. Those f***ing, bastards. Sorry for those words, but a big price drop would be due now. (At least for those people who have to buy a new PS2 because their old broke, which happens often from what I heard and read...) 1st party Nintendo titles are good to great with no exception. At least I don't know any bad game released from Nintendo. Nintendo was and is always delievering quality contents, and that's why they should survive and keep the game world interesting. I'm sure without Nintendo I wouldn't be a gamer now.

I think the PS3 will come out on top, but by a slim margin. It's going to depend a lot on price, if the system starts selling for much over $500 in what a consider a "playable condition" (HD, 2 controllers, game?) only adults and rich kids will be able to afford it.
I'd love to see the Revolution be released at less than half the price of the PS3, which is probable.

I'm sure they'll at least take 700$ from you for the machine, 2 controllers, HDD and a game.
Very rich kids (there are a lot I know) will be able to afford this.
Even if I could afford it, I refuse to spend so much money on a game machine.
500$ would even end my fanboyism for Nintendo.
I would not pay more than 200 Euro (about 240$) for a game machine. Even if it's the greatest thing ever and from Nintendo.
