After storing my Ogre Battle inserts away for a while, they've gained a weird mildewy smell. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to get rid of it... they still look to be fairly ok yet a little green in some places. Any suggestions?

Maybe there's a problem with the ink used to print those inserts. I know of some such inserts like maps and stuff can sometimes smell a bit like thinner or such.
About the greening I don't know. I haven't encountered something like that yet.

Place the inserts around a vent or something, with lots of constant airflow. It'll be fresh in no time.

Sounds like they were stored in a place that was a little too moist. Maybe you should put the inserts and such in a sealed container when storing them. That should prevent the problem from occurring again.

Yeah, that might be right, but none of the other stuff nearby was affected, it's kind of strange. There are some blotches on the surface, but they don't seem to be really serious or anything, and my have even been there before. The airing out really helped the smell though.

I think I've one-upped my own stupidity again.

The blotches, on further inspection, are part of the marble pattern and appear to be under the gloss over the paper. The weird smell was just a mix of dust and the smell of the plastic coating, and now everything seems to be back to normal.

I think my mind has been playing tricks on me again.
