I'm curious as to which console is the first one you ever owned. I understand in some cases it will be the NES, but as we are all different ages it may well be something else. Also, you never forget your first console
The first one I ever got was a SNES in 1992/1993 I think. The first console I ever bought was a Playstation, on which my brother and I payed half each.
Please lock if it's been done, but I couldn't find it in the "collecting" thread.

My first was an NES. I played the everloving crap out of some Sesame Street educational game and Duck hunt. I pretended the discuses were flying saucers. I was real young.

My first console was the NES as well, that SMB/DH cart sure got a workout (the only game I can remember having...) My mother has a photo of me in a walker (you 90's children probably won't know what that is) playing Q*bert on the Atari 2600, I've been gaming from the very beginning. ;)

Same with you Poo, I got an N64 in the spring of '98. Renting Zelda 10+ times consecutively, cause I couldn't save the money enough to buy the game, I had to spend it on renting it constantly! I never got past Jabu Jabu in those days, but I sure had fun roaming, and killing things with my sword. I also played the hell out of Starwars Episode 1 racer, it still remains as my favourite racer for any console.

NES at about the age of 2-4. I was always so proud of myself because I could hook it up, on my own, when my mom hid it from me :?. I don't remember for sure, but my best guess for first game would be SMB/DH cart. All the while playing NES in my TMNT chair 8), ahh those were the days...

When I was about 3 I had a NES. I had SMB/DUCK HUNT and this one game with racing monster trucks can't remember the names. I got a SNES a year later with SMW.

The first console I owned was an NES of course (if you don't count game and watch, which I already had before the NES). The first console I played on was an Atari 2600.

A Texas Instruments TI-99/4A computer...looked like a pc but plugged into your tv like a console..got it when I was about 4...I don't know why my parents bought this thing, but I remember my pops tryin to mess w/it for a while in the living room, then just set it up in my room... I recall playing some stupid game called Carwars for hours on end...before even learning to read.. "Aaron" wrote:Only Atari game I liked was E.T I dunno why but I liked it.
funny...E.T. was the start of Atari's demise..and what led to the videogame crash of the early eighties...thank god for those risky japanese...(the NES had all the odds stacked againts it @ the time of launch...) EDIT by Luke: Two posts combined, quote fixed.

I remember Nintendo asking Atari if they can bring over the Nes to North America. Atari said no. And that's why Nintendo is where they are now and same for Atari.

yeah...it seems Nintendo had the initial intention in usin Atari as a vehicle for bringing in their games to the states...before the Nes was even conceptualized Nintendo had already started porting over games like Donkey Kong and Mario Bros on Atari systems, that was until they took matters into their own hands... :D

Well, even so the fact that I'm 15 years old (at time of this post), my first console was NES. My first game was SMB, by that I don't mean the cart SMB/DH.
Actually, not all was thinking. Some was plotting, some was planning, and finally the explaining of my plan which I plotted after I thought of it.
