This will allow you to use your XBOX controller with your PC. You have to install the drivers in order to use it though, and as for those, you're on your own. If/when I find one that works good, I'll post it.

This is an extremely easy thing to do. You are basically just cutting a cord, and re-connecting it with another plug. The only thing you really need to know is to ignore the yellow wire, but if you want a step by step, just continue reading.

First things first, you'll need the following things
The 6" connection cord from an original XBOX controller
A Male USB plug
Soldering Iron
Solder
Something to cut with
And some various tools that are not necessary, but helpful: Tweezers, Wire Strippers, Side Cutters, Pliers, Electrical Tape, Small Phillips and Flathead screwdrivers, and for me Tums

First thing I did was get the male USB plug.
I bought 4 of these bad boys while I was in Las Vegas. Thing you can't see is they were $0.50 per kit 8) Comes with all port covers for your PS2, to keep dust out.

Here is what we want

Little close up of it

Pop it open and here is what you get.
Just cut all those stupid wires off (This is just how I got my USB plug, you can do the same with any USB plug, just cut all those wires off... it won't matter).

Did ya notice the 5.5VDC fan? Little freebie.

Now you can either cut the 6" XBOX connector before the plug, or tear the plug assembly apart (this was my choice). If you just cut the cord, then skip ahead 1 step. I will get some pics of the next one I do, and show you piece by piece how to take it apart at the plug.

This is what it looks like with all the plug housing tore off, along with my male USB plug. There was a little yellow wire in there, I painted it in :

Now, this is the easy part. Just transfer (requires soldering) the wires from the XBOX plug to the USB plug. They have the exact same pinout (minus the yellow wire of course).
If you cut the wires, its just as easy. Just match and solder all wires from your XBOX controller cord to the USB cord/plug (again minus Yellow).

You also end up with an XBOX plug. Another Freebie!! (although, I don't know of any use for it :)

Throw in some tape...

And your done! Just connect to your PC, find the drivers, and play away!

You could have at least suggested a driver to use. :P

I was going to but I was very tired. I planned on updating it by now, but did not get to it.

That XBCD is the one I am currently using. I am having trouble with it staying "installed". That is why I did not post it. I also got that XBOX360 PC adapter, so that slowed down my ambition a little...

You don't know about that? I doubt that...

Ooh, I didn't know there's a device like that.
The 360 controller would make a great game pad for emulation I guess. :)
I already thought about getting a wired 360 controller for that. Better rethink. :)

May 16th...

Ah, the RECEIVER.

I thought maybe you had been sold some adapter to use the wired pads on the PC. :P
