I've been looking around for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for PS2, and the prices are just insane: over $100 canadian for the game. And the prices never seem to go down. No stores have the game in stock either. Is there any way to get this thing reasonably?

Wow! Why is that so expensive? Did they only make, like, 100 of these?
All my "usual sources" only have it for expensive prices...
You could try to find the Japanese version of the game. It's also a bit more expensive than your usual used game, but you can get it for around 60-70$. Versions for Dreamcast or XBox are a bit cheaper.
If you don't find it.. go the *cough*illegal*cough* route and download the ISO. You'll need a modified console, though...
May 16th...

Personally, I hate the second game. The first was great, and all of the Vs. games previous to it. Just something in MvC2 doesn't fit for me.

I love the game, and I wanted to get a PS2 for that and a few other titles but I think I'll be sticking with my SNES instead.

I love this game. I learned it on the dreamcast and didn't have one so i bought it immediately when it was released on the ps2..which now sits on my shelf collecting dust alongside Capcom Vs. SNK 2. I can't believe this game shot up in price. If you have the old fat version of the ps2 i would recommend a little hd loader action, unless you're into owning things for real.

Yeah, I've got the PS2 version, but it was a fight to get it, and after many months, I've got to agree the first one is better. Maybe, once the Naomi hardware is cracked, we can play this on emulators. Not totally far-fetched, they've finally cracked the CPS3, so now SF III Third strike, Red Earth, the Jo Jo games, etc., are now semi-playable (I've been rather addicted to Red Earth/Warzard lately, but some of the text is really scrambled).

I don't usually play a game unless it's good enough to buy. I've never played the original so I can't say anything as to which is better. I do really like #2 though. I don't think I can afford to start getting into another system though. I need the $ for SNES stuff, CDs, and for guitar related stuff which I direly need.
