"Roth" wrote:Finally! I got a digital camera, so I'll probably be pic happy for awhile. Just bear with me! I tried to explain what my collection is displayed like before in this thread. In the back is the cabinet that I mentioned. The rest of it is my NES stuff that I just wanted to include in the pic. Nevermind the cord draped across the picture. That's my wife playing the new Paper Mario. :) Looks nice indeed, very nice in order,i will move the 15th of april and then i will display everything like the way i want, finally!!i will put up some pics too then. I combined my hobbies of woodworking and NES to build custom shelves that fit both boxed and bare carts. I built three of them and they will each fit either 666 bare or 500 boxed.

That's a great collection! What's that big Super Mario Bros thingy on one shelf? A light or something?

The big mario and pacman things are their marquees out of their original arcade games. I find broken arcades and take marquees out and then build lamps out of them. i have a donkey kong, ms pacman, and galaga in the works. should be done by the end of the month...i will get a pic of them on later...

That's so cool! 8) Where do you "find" broken arcades? :?: :!: :?: Do you take those home or just the marquees?

I find them at video game dealers or flea markets. You can buy just marquees on Ebay or other online stores as well. The wood work is simple and only requires a table saw with a blade you can change the height on. Then I just go to lowes and buy the wires and bulbs and sockets and wire together a series circuit with a switch. If anyone wants one, let me know which game and I will see if i cant find it. As long as you pay for the materials, I enjoy doing the work.
My next woodworking project combines my hobby of woodworking with my 3rd favorite hobby...I am building a liquor cabinet.
