I think it's very comprehensible in comparison to some people's posts even on this forum. The text just says that Sega brings out a new hardware in 2005, called "Dreamcast Type Two". :P

Yes the first thing I looked for while reading that was the date... Anyway it wouldn't be much of a successor; it just looks like an original Dreamcast and pad painted black!

Of course.
1st April 2005.
I read it a week after the date and was really excited... but the console looked not like a new one, basically just a black DC as Daynum said.
Hehe, I'll stick with the Dreamcast "one".

Yes day.month.year is the European way. Unforntunately I have an American watch so when I look at the date I read today as being the 4th of August. So why isn't it summer outside? Tomorrow will be September. Ahh!

You mean the date 4/1/05 as in the whole thing was an April Fools Joke?

Of course it was an April fool's joke. Unfortunately... Sega announced that they would never produce hardware anymore when they stopped the Dreamcast production.

Sega never rally had the beat and timing of being a succeful Console Making company. The first system they made, the Sega Master, was almost unknown. The Genesis was pretty even with the SNES. Saturn came to early and some would say it was limited compared to PS, I don't know about that. The biggest mistake they made was making the DC right after the appearence of the succesful N64, even the pricing was terrible. Basically, Sega is nothing but a game making company now but you never know, they might come out of the shadows later.

The N64 wasn't so successful... Sony was Dreamcast's death I believe. :(

In North America and Europe everybody bought the Playstation and also in Japan Sony sold a lot. That's the cause for the Dreamcasts mis-success and the N64's failure. :(

That was the cause of Segas downfall, but I believe the reason they lost those customers was because they were fed up of getting burnt when they bought hardware like the Sega CD or the 32X. So when it was the choice between Saturn or Playstation many wanted to try something new. The Dreamcast was excellent but by then the damage had been done.
