IMO no system is better than the other. They both have good games and their bad games. So you cant really go wrong with either.

Well, when you get an Xbox modded and install all the emulators on it, then put every rom from those systems on the HD, you have a pretty sweet system. Also, my Xbox can stream media, like movies and music, from my computer over the network, so it's like a nice DVD/DivX player too. It's nice to be able to use your 100+ GB of media on the home theatre system and not just on the computer. As far as the games for the actual system go, I think it would be a toss up. Nintendo would be a lot better if they had less 1st party rehash games and more original developers. So, I say as far as the actual systems themselves go, the Xbox is far better, but not for reasons Microsoft intended. And if you are the online gaming type (which I am not), the Xbox wins over everything else, except PC of course.

Here's the silly part of consoles that people fail to realize: A more powerful system doesn't make one console better than the other. At some point, that's the direction that games went. I'm beginning to think it happened somewhere after PSOne and the what I deem the beginning of the "Console Wars." System specs have always been compared, but now it's to the point that the gaming companies worry about how powerful the system is to try and get sales. Obviously this has worked, because that is what everyone concentrates on when a system comes out; specs. Every system out there has a lot of good games to them. It just depends on your taste in games and essentially, what controller is comfortable for you (very important!). The controller can be worked around now, since other companies develop controllers that may fit your hand better for different systems. Essentially, it depends on what games you want. I've had TONS of fun with my GameCube, but I'm sure if I had an Xbox again, it'd be the same way (especially since it has Ninja Gaiden!!!). http://robertlbryant.com

honestly, they're both great. Ninja Gaiden, and MrDNA summed it up pretty well. the Xbox can do just about anything, and it has some good games, though most of the games on that console are more mature themed. The cube has great games as well, and would have a lot more if they'd stop making Mario games.

You should look at the games when deciding which system to get.
If you like 1st person shooters, go for an XBox. If you badly want the Zeldas (like me :o ), you'll have to get Nintendo consoles.

I would get a gamecube, but Xbox still has some great games. Also, gamecube has its share of mature games. Like Resident Evil 4, Meta Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Also, both systems have their great Multi player games. "murder_killz" wrote:I played halo a few times before and that game is like crack. you play for 5mins and 2 hours later you realize, oh shit! Im late for work! Thats like me with Super Smash Bros Melee. If you have 2 or more people, that game can be played for hours.

I have both, and I play on the XBOX the most. That's not to say the GameCube is poor, however. It does have some great games, as does XBOX. As long as you don't get a PlayStation 2...................

I'd suggest just going to Wal-Mart or something and picking one up... there's a Forza pack at my local Zellers (not sure if you americans have that), and it's only $229 CDN, so I'm SURE you can get a better deal locally.

I had a PS2 never used besides DVD's and what not. The only reasons i bought my Xboxs' was to play Halo and I like sports games by Xbox. I have never played Gamecube more than twice and dont know if there is any good games...? I do like the CD design thingy though for Gamecube.
