While I'm asking for NES hardware help, I figured I might as well see if anyone has suggestion's for my buddy's NES. His had the usual blinking light, ect, which I fixed by cleaning the system. However, the big problem with his NES is that it likes to freeze up after about 10 minutes of use. It happens with any game we try, so it's got to be a problem with the system. Any ideas?

Aw, come'on. Someone has to have SOME idea.

I'm kinda toying with the idea of clipping the lockout chip in it. Problem is it's my friend's, so I dont wanna do that till I have some idea that it might help.

heres what I'd do if it didnt work for me. I'm not saying you should do this, but I would take it outside, let it meet the sidewalk four or five times and then jump up and down on the busted chunks that would be left over. but like I said, thats just what I'd do. I dout your friend would go for.

Clipping the lockout chip won't likely do much for you if you're not getting any game data displayed. if things were loading up, and the console was resetting, then the lockout chip is the solution.

You just have a junk connector. which it seems is happening more and more... I guess your seller wasn't as good as you thought.
