Alright, i just installed a new 72 pin connector that I bought off of ebay from a very good person. I insert a game that I have cleaned and the screen will just remain grey. The NES worked before I installed the new pin connector (it had the usual problems though) and now it wont work at all! I am pretty new to this NES stuff but I modded my xbox so i thought this wouldn't be a problem, but apparently not. Please help.
p.s.- I cleaned the games I tried in it also, so its not the games.

What game did you use? I heard that if you use Super Mario Bros, or DuckHunt, it could damage the pin because they might have thicker metal peices.

I used super mario brothers 3, zelda, and metroid. I took out the "new" connector and cleaned up the old one quite a bit. The original one works quite well now that its cleaned up. It loads everything the first time except Zelda, so I'm satisfied except for the money I wasted.

Sounds like an odd problem.

What did you use to clean ur old one? I plan on doing this because i don't feel like having to order a new pin set.

Well, I found 2 old NESs, and I cleaned my one buy spraying Windex on it. It worked for me.

my NES was giving me a hard time with playing games on the first try. I just opened it up, cleaned it all out and used windex on the pin connector and bent the pins up like youre suppost to. now it works like a charm first time everytime, every game. :D

Yup, Windex is a VERY good cleaning solution to have at hand.
