Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer: They kept the film very close to the Ultimate's version. I enjoyed the film. Worth seeing. Evan Almighty: I thought it wasn't funny at all. Steve Carell least funny movie IMO. The Movie was big on special effects but short on laughs.

I just watched "Hot Fuzz" wasn't funny at all. I mean, it's kinda alright to watch as a film, but not as a comedy... I liked Steve Carrel in anchorman, that was actually funny, as opposed to the aformentioned piece

Came home from "Death Proof" yesterday. I just have to say that Quentin Tarantino has done it again.
Actually, not all was thinking. Some was plotting, some was planning, and finally the explaining of my plan which I plotted after I thought of it.

Has anybody seen the new Harry Potter already?
I think I will go see it tonight (but only if there aren't too many people in line).

I haven't seen it, as I don't care for the books or the two films i've seen, but it's supposed to be the best of the series yet and has been getting 4 out of 5 in the reviews of it I have seen.

Going to see "Transformers" at the local cinema tomorrow. I didn't grow up in the 80's, but it was broadcast in the 90's as well, so I did watch the cartoon series.

Is that right? Well, I'll just have to see for myself, it's for nostalgia reasons you see. The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie wasn't a masterpiece either, but it was Ninja Turtles, so I enjoyed it.

We wanted to go yesterday, but the line was so long that we decided to wait another week or two. :? For me it's also important if it's boring or not. :) It's really all that counts. Thanks for the input. :o

Saw "Transformers" today. I wasn't disappointed at all. I got goosebumps when Optimus Prime was revealed in the movie.
Having Shia LaBeouf to play Spike Witwicky (Sam Witwicky in the movie) was a good choice in my opinion. He's such a good actor. You might remember him as Constantine's sidekick, Chas Kramer.
The other cast members were OK, didn't really focus on them though (maybe because the movie is set on giant robots from another planet).
In any case, I'm glad this motion picture of old heroes turned out well. It's cool that they decide to make a live motion picture about all the big superheros now days. Like Spider-Man, X-Men, The Hulk etc. Just as I'm at the best age to see it.
Up untill now the only disappointment I've had with one of the superhero movies is the movie about "Fantastic 4". That honestly did suck. I didn't exactly catch every comic book or watched the cartoons of them, but I got the gist of it. Let's just hope the sequel featuring Silver Surfer will be good.

I went and saw Transformers last night. It was not even CLOSE to a disappointment. I thought it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Don't really want to get into detail on it (I hate spoilers) but I give the movie 10/10. That Shia LaBeouf is a great upcoming actor, I don't really remember much of Transformers from my childhood so I can't really judge his interpretation of Spike Witwicky. I saw Disturbia a while ago and I think he was the only reason the movie was somewhat good. Can't remember what else he is in, but I do know that I will probably see any movie that he is in, no matter how bad/good I hear it is. I didn't think it was all that bad :? Wasn't great by any means, but not horrible. Silver Surfer is a couple steps better, but still not an amazing movie.

I agree with you on a lot of your opinions there, logandbz. As I said, the "Transformers" movie wasn't bad at all.
By the way, I never congratulated you, because you're a father now right? I'm very late out to point it out, I know...

I watched "Top Secret" not so long ago. Very funny film, a good mix of visual and verbal comedy, with a few "clever" jokes thrown in. I believe it's by the airplane creators. I definately recommend this.
I also saw "freddy got fingered" - that was crap.
"Intolerble Cruelty" was also pretty lame, except the first five minutes. I can't believe the Cohen brothers did this. I guess it would be alright to watch to kill some time.
All i've done since wimbledon ended is watch films and play video games. Quite sad, but the weather is really crap right now.

Tomorrow is the premiere day for "Simpsons: The Movie" at the local cinema, and I've got tickets. I was pretty early out today to get them. I'll be telling you how it is if you haven't seen it after it is done tomorrow. There will be no spoilers, of course.

But I'm worried it will be a crappy episode drawn out to 87 minute's. But I have a theory: All the talented writers from the show were shifted to working on the movie. (That's what I'm hoping anyways.)

I'm hoping for something like that as well, figg muffins.
Judging by the previews it seems like they've gone in the Family Guy-wannabe direction once again, the Simpsons used to be a funny show with witty jokes, and now we get "spider pig.. spider pig.. does whatever a spider-pig does" :(
