Im not really a tech person. at all. and my nes is having some problems, and i don't want to send it in or anything. problem is, i don't know anything. i don't know how to get the case off, i don't even know what a 72 pin connector is, let alone how to clean it oor purchase a new one, so i cant go about fixing it. if somebody could give me a few pointers, id appreciate it a lot. god knows you guys get enough questions like this.

Instead of replacing it. Just clean it with Windex.

Keep in mind that it isn't as hard as it sounds. I know it sounds kind of intimidating to open up an electronic gizmo that you really have no idea about, but in reality it isn't.

My advice is that the screws / cover / rf shield etc should be fairly easy to pop off, if it isn't, you're doing something wrong (maybe you forgot a screw).

The 72-pin connector though might require some elbow grease though, mine was stuck on REALLY tightly.

And yeah, that guide looks like it'll tell you everything you need to know.
