Hey, I grew up in the when the N64 and PS one reigned the video game world. However, i had only been gaming on the N64 until a couple of years ago when i bought a small version two ps1. I enjoy games like zelda ooT, All of the harvest moon series, and games such as that. i like those games that you just get swept up in, and cant stop playing them. and was wondering if you guys could reccomend some Good RPG type games, other than the FF series.

Well, Suikoden, and Suikoden II are amazing RPGs, but cost a lot of money. Other amazing RPGs, that don't cost much are Chrono Cross, and the Legend of Dragoon.

Dragon Warrior 7 is an excellent RPG for PS1: over 100 hours of game play, fully animated monsters in battle, 160 jobs to master and hundreds of abilities to learn!.

Lunar 1 & 2
Breath of Fire 3
Xenogears
Dragon Warrior 7
Grandia
Legend of Mana (much awsomeness IMO)
Final Fantasy Origins (I know, I know but I had to plug it just in case you were talking about those other post FF7 games  )

I thought Chrono Cross was way too slow, but then I'm an action gamer at heart. It did have a cool story even if it didn't make much sense half the time. For a decent action RPG you could try Brave Fencer Musashi. And if you don't already have Castlevania: Symphony of the Night then get it. It may not be an RPG but it still sucks you in.

I don't know if you're into the CastleVania series, but since you're into Zelda, I'll guess that you MIGHT be into it. Even if you aren't CastleVania: Symphony of the Night is a great game. It has RPG elements such as getting stronger through attributes and the like. CastleVania Chronicles is cool too, with unlockables of artwork and such. It's more old-school CV oriented.

I see the Suikodens were already mentioned... those are my favorite RPGs of all time! Those are must plays!

You should play more of the CV for the N64. It is a great game. Also, Simons Quest does have the best music out of the first 3 games.

Final Fantasy 7 and Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Must haves. They never put either game out on any other platform, so if you've got any Playstation, pick these up. Castlevania releases on N64 were disappointments, IMO.

Oh wow, I forgot all about Intelligent Cube... My wife liked that game I think. I'm pretty sure we owned it at one point, or had a demo of it. I don't think I was very good at it, but I did think it was quite different from other games I had played.

I know I've said this a million times but

PARASITE EVE

Has anyone else played this game? I found the story and beautiful cut scenes (at least at the time) very cool.

I need friends.... I had to nix Tom. He wasn't really my friend. His smile "mocked" me.

Parasite Eve! Man, I'm going down memory lane here :P Yeah, I've played that, but not all the way through. It's a very cool game. The whole beginning sequence at the opera house was crazy!
