Hey guys, I was wondering if you all could help me out. I recently bought an NES at a yard sale. The system works. They plugged it up before I bought it. It was only 5 dollars and came with an RF switch, the gun, 2 controllers and 2 games. So, both games work. I need an AC Adapter. They wouldn't sell it as part of it and for only 5 dollars I felt like it was okay. Okay, now I want an ac adapter and I am having problems finding one. Does anyone know of a place I can get one online? (not ebay) Or does anyone know of another ac adapter that also works with NES???

Well, I don't really mind paying a good amount for the adapter since I did get the system so cheap.

the input: 120V AC 60Hz 7.5W output: 12V DC 300mA write that down and take a trip to Radio Shack, look for it yourself or ask an employee.... or you could go to a thrift store or a Goodwill and search the bins by the computer stuff, a Goodwill by me has a bin that's always full of computer cables, telephone lines, ac adapters, controllers and all kinds of random cords for electronical stuff if you decide to look at Goodwill, chances are they'll have one made by Nintendo, and it'll say Nintendo on it

I know this is late but it happened to me recently and I found out that a DC adaptor will work fine, I have one that is 7.5 volts center positive and 800mA and it works fine on my modded NES.

It might work fine for a while, but evetually nuke it. I made that mistake before.

Messiah was also selling *new* adapters for the original NES, but I can't seem to find them on their site anymore. If you go to the NES section, it's listed as a "related product" down at the bottom, but the link takes you to the online store, where they are apparently not selling them anymore... Might wanna place a call or email them to see what's going on there.

You should be able to get one at any Radio Shack or a universal one at any Wal-Mart.

Yep. I've got one from Radio Shack that's adjustable for the volts, and double-tasks for the NES and a guitar effects pedal that would eat 9V batteries if I didn't have an adapter.

Newbie here, but "professional" (arcade) game tech.... need help with this one, my NES has ratings for 9VAC, not 12VDC. There is a difference. I want to know what harm would it cause to put, say, a Genesis plug on there (which has worked before, is 10VDC)? I don't know if this NES is some obscure voltage rating because it came from Canada, but doing some other online research comes up with it being 9VAC.... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47930Any help is appreciated, I know there are probably a bunch more kids on here than "techies" who probably don't know that AC and DC are different, but any help is appreciated.
