hmmmm... Whatever suits you I suppose. Though I'm sure you're logged out and reading what everyone posts here about you. I'm just wondering, is it because of Z.E.N? I'm thinking you didn't just elect to give up gaming, but to not come here maybe...? If that's the case, don't let Z.E.N get to you TOO much. He likes to argue VGChat style.

You didn't JUST give up gaming. There has to be a reason...

Did you fall into the evil clutches of a cult or are you depressed? Depressed people don't enjoy things they once did!

Either way or any way I hope your O.K.

Let me get this straight...
Here we are, at the dawn of the next generation console revolution, with a brand new 'Zelda' game on the horizon, while all the current consoles are at their technological peak...
And you're just giving up? You should at least wait until 2006.

If you're simply "bored" with the newer stuff, why not go back and play games from the earlier consoles. there's enough there to keep a gamer happy for nearly a lifetime.

(Unless there's more to it than what you're letting on.)

SO my girlfriend felt I was spending too much time playing games (which is a lie, barely an hour a day, most of the day i'm at work and I see her for far more time than I spend gaming) So I got the old gaming or me ultimatium. I thought, fine, I can keep my consoles in the loft or something. However, this morning I get a text message, the jist of which is her saying she was out of order and sorry etc and she should appreciate me a bit more and as a way of making it up, so said she'd buy me a couple of games (but I won't let her, she's a poor student) so, all's well that ends well. :)

I'm glad it ended well!
Have you tried to get her into video games? Maybe she feels left out.
Or maybe if it's about the whole spending time together thing maybe while your playing video games she can read a book, or knit or study (while in the same room with you). That way you are still spending time together; but exploring your own interests.
:D

Well, the thing that kinda annoyed me was that I always make time for her but it's water under the bridge now.

Welcome back in the gaming world.
I'm so glad my wife also likes games, so I will never have such a problem... I hope. :)
It's cool that it ended well.

Keep on gaming. 8)

An hour a day? And she was threatened? Jeez, gaming is the only thing I do, unless I can get out with my friends.

I'm impressed she actually waved the ol' olive branch, though. I know girls where that type of situation does not end well.

I have the same problem, dave, so I wouldnt worry about it. My problem is so much worse. I have NO real schedule. My girlfriend is literally obsessed with me. Ever since she moved here I was the first peer she met. and I offer her time to spend with her friends but all she wants to do is see me even after I left her house after seeing her. When I "make" time for myself, she begs for me to come over, and I end up cracking, and sacrificing my "personal gaming time" to see her. Devotion is an ugly thing.

To go off on a tangent: I think this forum, along with the "off-topic" board, there should be a "love board" where people can talk abot relationships, dating, the big L word, etc.) Gamers (and nerds like me) need love too.

Well, we could have a "Love Board"...
But all the topics will just end up being about "Karnov" (as usual).

i dont believe ill ever get the "games or me" thing.. my games are too much a part of me, and my girlfriend knows it.. it's like saying "change who you are or i wont stay with you".
i dont even play the things most of the time.. im a collector more than anything. sometimes ill play a game for an hour or more just messing around with it though.. like playing with goldeneye with cheats on, or perfect dark.. the other day i set about a goal of getting a fly-by-wire slayer rocket from the firing range out into the main area of the carrington institue.. only took me 15 mins or something.. im gonna post my results on that somewhere else, i already drifted off topic too much:P

anyway, you get the point.. if youre a gamer, i think your partner should accept that as a part of who you are.. i'd never rearrange my girlfriends interests to suit myself..
