I find 'Super Punch-Out' to be quite disappointing compared to the original game.
The consYour playable character's sprite is so large that it hides a lot of the action. It's difficult to see your opponents maneuvers, hereby making game play difficult to master.
The original 'Punch-Out' has a good sense of rythm to it where you can actually learn to fight each opponent, where as 'Super Punch-Out' resorts to matches that can only be won by "luck" most of the time.
Some of the opponents have relentless "dodging tactics" that (while may be intersting at first) ends up making for annoying and overlong matches.
Some of the fighters are just plain cheap - using flying kicks, knocking you down with one hit too easily, or you can only land a punch on them at the right split-second moment.
The prosIt has good, well detailed graphics.
The sound has obviously been greatly approved.
Optional "Time Attack" mode.
Some old fighting favorites from 'Punch-Out' return.
You will actually need to learn to dodge to
both sides to avoid certain punches.
The characters have the same sense of comical personality.
...
The best suggestion would be to actually try playing an emulation of the game to see what you think of it first. It's like
trying before you
buy... ing.
