so I have a Micro Machines cart in front of me, and I'm noticing a connector on the back of it. Would anyone happen to know what that would be for?

Update: After more research it seems there is supposed to be a switch there to bypass the lockout chip, but mine is lacking this switch. And it wasn't removed, because my small PCB area has pins while the switch one just had a switch soldered to the board. This is becomming quite interesting...

mine is exactly the same as that one, I had to clip the lockout chip to get it to work. I wonder if this version is more/less rare than the one with the switch and raised lettering in the lower section of the cart. Does anyone know?

i am not sure but i think camerica released the ones without the switch first because they had found a way around the first generation nes systems lockout device and then when nintendo revised thier lockout device in later versions camerica put the switch on there games to toggle between the different versions. camerica must have known that nintendo would do this eventually and put an opening on the back for a switch just in case thier lockout bypass device no longer worked.camerica games without the switch work fine on nes-cpu-07 and i think they flash on nes-cpu-09. i know for sure they dont work and flash on nes-cpu-11. the games with the switch flash in one switch position and work in the other position on nes-cpu-09 and i think its the other way around on nes-cpu-11 or maybe it flashes in either position im not sure. if anybody has a camerica game with the switch and they have pcb revision nes-cpu-11 please post and let me know

that makes sense, I guess the small piece of PCB could have a switch plugged into it or something? both of my NESes are Rev. 11 so that explains why it doesn't like to work.
