http://www.classicgaming.com/features/articles/nesrepair/I did this a few years back and my NES hasn't shown a grey screen since. Keep in mind that If you do this, it's especially hard to pull out Tengen cartridges.

Thanks, but this has been posted a few dozen times before in the hundreds of threads we having about the connector in the NES. I'll leave this thread here, because it may be easier to find for new folk.

I did it a couple days ago, I was just messing with it trying to make it work when it occurred to me that the pins probably were weak, so I bent them up. I found that article AFTER fixing the blasted 72 pin connector :wink: It is pretty hard to get the games out, but the pins will probably slacken a bit again. I can run them in the up position and they work fine.
