We already established Karnov is a billion posts. And we should avoid the SMW idea because this is The NES Files. Maybe when you get to 5000 you should be allowed a personalized rank. I say that because I like the sound of Manual's being "The German Guy"! :P

I'd hold reservations to that... I personally would like to choose said rank at any time after said post count is reached, and I would also like to know that you wouldn't be able to change the damn thing once you choose it.

I think the personalized it a good idea. Just as long as you can only change it every 5000, not anytime you feel like it. Agreed... But should there be some limitations on what you can use/call yourself? you know like only NES related, or something like that? And maybe you can change it every 1,000 or 2,000 posts.. 5,000 seems awfully high.

My "The German Guy" is not gaming related...
I think if you can choose a custom title you should be able to choose it freely. Since it's a gaming board naturally lots of people will choose gaming related titles I guess...
(Only derogatory and overly profane stuff should be prohibited.)

I'm not sure if this is the "reputation" item that was discussed at the very beginning of this topic, but another suggestion is for users to be able to "rank" each other. You can do this on another forum I post at. You click on the person's username and can rank the user on the quality of posts, help to other members, etc. It could be as simple as just stars, or tiny Karnov "K" signs (with the understanding that the system not get abused if it's implemented), thoughts?
