I have that game on the SNES...I pretty much play alons cuz nobody else like's it.
So my question is :: Does anybody here play that game and have beaten it before??

No, although Nobunaga's Ambition on the NES is my favorite strategy game :D I find it fun. Is it very similar? Is it worth a download to test it out?

Well I havent tried it on the NES, but I know that on the SNES it was pretty fun to play!
But I havent been able to find strategies or anything related to the game yet on the web. :P
I know that there are sequels on the SNES, the last one was Nobunaga 3 : Rise of the Phoenix I believe

I can't even beat it on the NES. Love it, love it, love it, but the game frigging rapes me. The farthest I ever got was on fourteen territories, and I controlled most of the eastern side. Therefore, my back territories were all resource producing, and the border was protected by strong-as-hell military estates. It was perfect. Unfortunately, Nobunaga managed to punch through, conquered all my farming and industrial estates, isolated me from my military estates, and kicked my ass. ... I got pwned.

Here's a great strategy, at least for the NES version, which will get you tons of gold each Fall.
Turn #1 (spring): Change taxes to around 65
Turn #2 (summer): Give your peasants all of your gold
Turn #3 (fall): Sell most of your rice if you can, otherwise train
Turn #4 (winter): Sell most of your rice if you couldn't previously, otherwise train
Turn #5 (spring): Sell most of your rice if you couldn't previously, otherwise give your peasants all of your gold
Turn #6 (summer): If you have gold, give it all to your peasants, otherwise, give most of your rice to your peasants
Now, keep repeating the steps 3-6 between fall & summer for several years, and you will see your Loyalty and Wealth attributes climb. Your gold & rice collected in the fall are based on those 2 attributes, and after a little while, you will start getting around 1500 gold & 1500 rice each fall, or more.
Keep a few things in mind:
When I mention to give all of your gold to your peasants, rather than giving them 100%, keep just 1 gold for yourself. If the computer attacks you when you have 0 gold, you are automatically defeated, but not if you have 1 gold.
When you start buying hordes & hordes of soldiers, make sure to give them a lot of gold to get your morale up before you go to battle. You don't have to worry too much about their Skill, since you will overpower your opponent, but try to boost morale.
If you want to try doubling your efforts, sometime during the first or second year, assassinate a neighboring ruler, and then you can bid on the fief on your next turn (make sure you have enough gold to bid). Once this fief is yours, buy some extra soldiers in that fief to dissuade neighboring rulers from attacking you, and then start with Step #1 above.

Yes, I was able to beat both versions and #2, along with Romance of the 3 kingdoms and Ghenghis (sp?) khan they were 3 very addicting games.
Always change your Army layout to 40% for div 1 (thats your leader) and the rest to Calvery and Rifles (#2 and #3) You really dont need #4 and #5 since they are weak inf.
Hojo, I think (area) 14 is a great country to start out with, also this games takes years to beat, best to start out with a leader that is young, nothing worse then having like 30 area's and dying due to old age. :o

Finally I've found people who play this game :)
Do any of you buy arms sometimes? And is it worth while spending gold on Ninja's?
BTW Rizz, I've beaten the game, but I never had the instruction manual for that game though, so I don't know what everything does.
Tried looking for guides on the net, but no luck

I usually don't buy arms until I'm pretty far into the game. This might be wrong, but I had always thought that buying arms allows you to have a larger Rifle Unit when you make army assignments... sure enough, according to the manual, the value for arms is the ratio of weapons to men. You can see the whole manual here: http://www.world-of-nintendo.com/manuals/nes/nobunagas_ambition.shtmlI love spending money on ninjas for assassinations, but the farther you get into the game, the less successful your attempt will be. I only buy a few ninjas for assassinations, since sending 500 doesn't seem to work any better than just sending 3. I don't bother with hiring ninjas for arson or destroying dams, but sometimes I'll go crazy with the military uprising & revolting. That's when I control 20 fiefs or so, and I just do it for some fun. If you are just trying to get through a game, I wouldn't even bother with those ninja abilities.
