Okay, I thought it was funny that I had found a game in mint condition in my home town... now I'm just baffled as to what I found in my town of no NES games (since I never found any). Okay, here's the story.

I just got done mailing off an SMS game to some woman in Australia. I figured, hey, I'm downtown... I might as well go game hunting since my recent discovery. Well, it didn't take me far at first. I went into a pawn shop, and the earliest they had were Game Boy games. However, they had a Pokemon Gold there, so I went ahead and picked it up since Jeremiah has been wanting a Pokemon game for sometime. There wasn't much else there, so I went ahead and left.

I was walking down the street and hadn't entered any businesses yet. I was kind of sizing up where I thought would be possible places. I was right next to the music store, and decided before I kept up on my gaming quest, I would go in there and jam on a bass for a little while. I walk in, and see this one guy standing there. I nod my head at him as if saying hello, and he nodded back. As I'm about to pass him in the store, I look down, and what's right by his feet?

A BOXED NES.... MINT CONDITION!

I immediately asked if that was his, and where did he get it? He said his father had it in storage for him after all these years, and he was walking back home from there and decided to stop in the music shop. We started talking, and we eventually found out that we're both collectors of all systems, but NES is both of our main hobbies. He told me he just got back from a pawn shop that has NES games, and that he had picked up some before. I asked him which one, and he gave the name of the SAME one I was just at. I told him I saw none in there. So he goes back there with me.

We get inside, and he points to where they are. I look... they're up on a shelf... NOT with the other video games, and there's all kinds of crap around them. I couldn't believe it! I immediately started telling the guy behind the counter which ones I wanted, and he told me they were each TWO-DOLLARS APIECE! Here's the games I got for $2 apiece USD:

Kiwi Kraze
The Three Stooges
Infiltrator
Barbie
Harlem Globetrotters
Ice Hockey
Star Wars
Little League Baseball
Milon's Secret Castle
Super Dodge Ball
Classic Concentration
Nintendo World Cup
Desert Commander
ULTIMA: QUEST OF THE AVATAR!!!!!!!!

I've been looking for that Ultima for AGES it seems!

So, me and this guy go outside, and I ask if he has a computer. He didn't unfortunately, 'cuz I was gonna point him here ;) We noticed we hadn't introduced ourselves yet, so we did that, and he was gonna walk home. I gave the dude (Alex was his name, I think someone else around here has that name as well, no ;) ) a ride home, and I'm sure he was grateful. It wouldv'e been a helluva trek for him.

Anyway, that's my awesome day that I combine with my find from yesterday... I combine them and make it my Sweet Week! I never found anything in this town, and now it's finally starting to happen. I think this place is just behind the times :?

Yeah I bet it was Jeremiah that's been wanting a Pokemon game for sometime. ;)

Damn, man! I've never been able to track down an Avatar cart, at all. Of course, there aren't many pawn shops where I live.

Nice. :D

That'll teach you to look in and up EVERY single shalf they have in stores.
I made the same experience. Sometimes they put gaming stuff somewhere you would expect it least.

Great finds. 8)

Cool finds (esp. Barbie). 8)

This reminds of a few years ago when I went to this pawn shop a few times that always had a load of SMS and Genesis games but hardly any NES stuff. One day I asked the guy behing the counter if he ever got any Nintendo games in (thinking that maybe there was someone else in town who was buying it all). His response was that they didn't bother putting unboxed games out on display and with that he pulled out a big box that had about 50-60 NES games in it, most of which I didn't have. I walked out with an empty wallet that day!

I guess the moral of the story is it's always best to ask. :P
