So i've noticed a lot said about the GTA games in various topics on this site. So, I was wondering what everybody thought about the series (in particular the modern ones on PS2/XBox) Do you think they're a bad example? too violent? etc.

I really like the GTA games. I find them great fun. I remember being blown away by GTA3 when I first played it back in 2001. My housemate at the time got a PS2 and I couldn't stop playing that game. For the first week or so I don't think we even did many of the missions, we just explored the city. We spent forever trying to get the police attention up to maximum, not realising it couldn't be done until later in the game. Then when we first got a tank the fun really began... :twisted: So yeah the GTA games are some of my favourite of the current gen of consoles.

One of the best games out there for sure! Much better on Xbox than PS2 I would say. More attention to detail for the Xbox version, PS2 always looks like poo! Ive played both GTA3 and ViceCity to death, %100 on both of them games. But I still keep playing it! Its one of them games. For people that think its too violent or sends the wrong messages to certain people, I guess its all in who is playing it. I see nothing wrong with any aspect of the game. Even the recent story in the news about being able to have sex in the game, the "Hot Coffee" mod. I pulled this mod off and it was nothing special, its not asif you can just hammer in some code into the controller and blamo your having sex in the game. You had to know what you where doing and manipulate a bunch of things in order to pull this off. I figure all this recent media attention is just going to sell more GTA games! Vice City had $160 million in pre-sales! Wow! Thats better than alot of movies these days!

Its fun when your stressed out, and feel like.....hurting someone. Instead of hurting a real person, you hurt only made up people.

I think its kind of fun yeah. I just mess around on the streets when i get to play it.
It just upsets me when i see 4 year olds shooting old ladys and stuff.. :?

yeah, Grand Theft Auto is NOT a kids game. I never let my little bro play that shit. dont really matter though, he's 5 y/o and would rather play Spyro, Jak or Zelda. lol

I think it's a fun game. I don't play the games for the missions, just for pure f'ing around and causing trouble. :D

I like them, my favourite has to be Vice City (mainly due to the groovy soundtrack) I didn't much care for San Andreas for some reason.
It's all good as long as six year olds don't play it and think it's ok to kill people etc.

I think the GTA Series is great but i liked the Vice City Soundtrack better then the San Andreas soundtrack. :)

I don't know what station, but im fairly sure Owner of a lonely heart is on it somewhere. Some rock pop station im guessi ng. EDIT: Luke, you may want to check this out: they are having a Yes marathon http://stellar-attraction.com/ Prog. rock radio station 8)

Vice City and San Andreas were fun (Andreas because of the massive depth, not missions). But really, what the f*** is with everyone raving about them? They're not that great. Oh, and in the interest of fairness, I believe that random GTA fanboys need to be represented. As such, I offer the following; "OMG how can u say that GTA ROX fuxors!!!!!!!!!!!!" There. Now everybody can be happy.
