The Sega Genesis had three models right? I've only known of Model 1 and 2. Can anyone tell me about Model 3?

* Announced in 1997 as a "budget" version of the Sega Genesis
* Manufactured by Majesco
* Released in 1998 as the "Genesis 3" in North America only
* Retailed for $50
* Due to lack of an expansion port, unable to link with Sega CD
* Model number MK-1641

it's also incompatible with the 32x (which is almost as large as the console itself is)

but it's much easier to get an s-video signal out of due to the Sony CXA1645 video encoder taking the place of the CXA1145 in previous models.

I'd like to find a dead Genesis 3 and try to swap the encoder chips to see how that would work out in a Genesis 1 or 2.

What about the Sega CD and 32x, those were add-ons for the Genesis, and there are two versions of the Sega CD.

My dad says he has a SEGA CD and a 32X some where in the basement. I might just go and Look for it.

I think the best out of all the Models is Model 2. Also I am trying to track down a Nomad. If anyone has a Nomad to sell or trade just PM me.

a friend of mine has a model 3, is super-ultra-mega small. it's kinda like the NES toploader, it's so small you feel like you're going to break it. i hate the thing.

For the ability to be improved, the model 1 is the best.

Also, I have a Nomad that doesn't see a lot of use, but it'll take a lot to get me to part with it.
