This isnt good my bro just told me that the Gamecube wasnt working. So I checked it out and the game will boot up and run but all of the sudden the game will go black and the red power light will go out but the fan will keep running. I made sure the fan was clean of dust but its still doing it.

 dude, that sucks really bad! take some rubbing alcohol to the lazer lens and see if that helps any. if not, go to a friends house who has the same color game cube as you and switch 'em out.

Hehe...want my dead one cheap in case you decide to do a fix? It worked for me for a while, but best thing is I hope you kept your warranty from Nintendo. If you wanted, I have all the guts, plus the special bit needed to boot.

My List. Remember, everything can be bought, for a price.

They just don't make systems like they used to. I never heard of NES's burning out after only a couple years (or even less).

they make stuff w/ cheap parts and cheap labor, then act all confused when the damn thing breaks. but Nintendo is normally good about stuff like that. they use good parts. ...Im not saying they dont pay little 8 year olds .10 cent a day to build it though. (just kidding)

One of the reasons I took a N64 with me to Iraq in 2003 was that it had no moving parts. (except in the controllers which would have to be dissasembled and cleaned every few weeks to get the sand out) If it has moving parts, it will eventually wear out. The more you play and abuse anything with a drive in it the faster it breaks.

I remember in "Nintendo Power" many years ago someone accidentally ran over their NES with their car. The case was smashed , but after he straightened the metal cage that the games slipped in, it still worked. Nintendo replied something to the effect of "we don't reccomend running over you NES or playing it without a cover" :)

He's the member that's in the military and is in Japan right now. You know, the guy who's been selling Japanese gaming material on eBay. Know your fellow members ;)

DUDE!! I fixed it. I ran it with THPS 3 with no controller for an hour and it was fine. I then started plugging in my controllers one by one. When I plugged in this new orange one my bro got it shut off right away. So i found out that the controller was shorting out the system. So nintendo would have charged me 50 dollars for a new one or a repair (im not sure which one). So I told my bro to either let me take it apart or to sell it at gamecrazy for $7 store credit.

I have the pumpkin orange (don't they call it "spice" or something) controller too! Glad you got your cube back to good health.
