I'm having a very odd sega CD problem. A while ago, when I turned it on, it told me that I had a Japanese megadrive and I needed a American one :? . Now, regardless of whether I have the AC power in or not and turn it on, it will display the boot up screen, only the sega CD logo isn't there, the bottom text is missing, there's no music, and the image of the Earth in the background is darker. If you're into minor detail, the access light will occasionally blink whenever I turn it on. The system is a model two sega cd with bios v2.0 and is running with a model two Genesis.

Are you sure you have a Genesis? Megadrive is the Genesis for euro, and japan, they don't call it a Genesis, and for the sega CD, you need both items to be one format, be it PAL or NTSC. NTSC = Genesis, SegaCD PAL = MegaDrive, MegaCD

The reason I typed megadrive is because I was quoting the system directly. It was a while ago, so I can't remember if it said mine was pal or japanese. I'm positive my genesis is a US model, though. It is currently unmoddded and plays US games without fail every time. Interestingly enough, GENS does the same thing to me. I'm probably just cursed or something. Anyways, here's a picture of what it gives me on both the real thing and emulators.
