Are there any changes to the game once you beat it for a third or fourth time? I beat it like 4 times today and only noticed the second time all goombas turn to the black shell guys (i knew of it before).

I'm fairly sure the game won't keep changing after the second time. It's been a while since I beat that game more than twice in a row so I might be wrong.

If you want a game that gradually increases in difficulty each time you conquer it, try Contra. Over at VGChat a few months ago, Bazariah made a challenge for himself and others to join in if they wanted to, to beat the Twin Galaxies score for that game. I went through that game about.. man, I can't remember for sure... five or six times in a row? That first level man, you really see a HUGE difference each time you go through it. Enemies are jumping at you from all sides, and sometimes it's hard to get yourself set enough to where you can start proceeding to the right again. It does start to get boring going through so many times though, and I eventually just let the rest of my lives die off so I could take a pic of my final score. I never tried running through SMB more than once, besides testing the first couple of levels on the 'second quest' just to see what enemies were changed. Maybe I'll give that a shot. http://robertlbryant.com

yeah, i was just being stupid, but anyways, just use fireballs to kill the hammerbros. it isn't hard at all. you have no excuse!!!! well, if you dont feel like playing it, it doesn't really matter if you cant beat it, i know a lot of people who haven't beaten it, but it is worth a try. have you ever beat smb3? if so, i would think smb1 would be no problem.

At the end of beating the second quest Peach says "hurray for our hero Mario" or something. I don't think you can continue either, it just says "quit" and "save and quit". Or that's how it is for allstars.

Yeah. I've beaten alot of mario games, including 2 and 3 on the nes. It's so weird I can't beat the first one...
