As I'm German I can't get Nintendo Power, but I collected the German Club Nintendo magazines.

I used to have several old issues, but they seemed to go missing right around the time my brother moved out...

I sent letters to Nintendo of America (about 10 years before) and I beged them, but they wouldn't send me one issue of Nintendo Power. They said they could only send it within the states and Canada.

They have a promotion on right now where you can win a Gold Triforce GBA SP with a copy of the Minish Cap and it's only open to Canada.

I want that gold GBA and I could even afford it, but I have to save the money for my trip to Japan where I hope to buy a DS.

One of them was the first one with Mario on the cover! Sadly, I can't find three of them, including that one. I have: February 1991 (ripped cover) April 1991 (pretty good condition) August 1991 (no cover) It's fun to look at the old maps that they made. It's also funny how long SMB 3 was the top game! http://robertlbryant.com

Same here in Germany. I love to look through old video game magazines. (I think I have over 500) It's so funny to look at the "incredible graphics" of those days. Does anybody know the Japanese "Famitsu" (Famicom tsuushin ファミコン通信). It's probably the best and most famous video game magazine (named after our beloved NES, i.e. Famicom) in the world. http://www.nintendo2000.de/famitsu/famitsu.htmYou can take a look into an issue of Famitsu here. (The site is in German, but it doesn't matter)

This may help some people. :) But the text is not so good. And old. It still says DM. We already have Euro for 3 years now. But the price didn't change! It's still 350 Yen (3.50$), which is not so expensive I think. I often buy it when I go to Japan.
Hey, it's really funny to read. I like online translators. It's a little OT, but I sometimes translated texts from German into English into some other lanuages and then back into German. Just try it yourselves, it's great fun. :D

I think the cheapest I've seen a video game magazine go for in Canada was $5.50 CDN and those ones aren't very good. I'm not sure what Nintendo Power sells for, although I'm considering a subscription. So that's something I should look into.

The (probably) cheapest video game magazine in Germany is "Video Games Aktuell", it sells for 1.99 Euro (2.63$) and comes with a Demo CD. It was 1 Euro for a long time (without the CD). http://www.gamesaktuell.de/Famitsu is really great. They have so many pictures in it and the design is great. About 300 pages for 3.50$ is definitely not bad.

wow, anything that includes a demo here is like, $11.99 CDN so that thing is almost free. and they seem to keep up on stuff pretty well from what I read on the webpage.

My favourite mag here is called "Man!ac". It's on all consoles, is in the 13th year now and comes with a DVD (with video reviews, feature stories, funny and sometimes superplay videos). It's 4.99 Euro (6.60$ or 7.94 CDN) http://www.maniac.de/There is also a version without DVD for 2.99, but from next month there will only be the DVD version. Another good mag is "Gamepro". This also comes with DVD for the same price. And you get the DVD in a case! http://www.gamepro.de/cgi-bin/heft.mplYou can download a teaser trailer from that site. I don't know how it is and what the trailer contains, but it should be interesting. http://www.gamepro.de/magazin/trailer/teaser022005.zip

I used to buy GamePro regularly, back in the late 16-bit and through most of the PS/N64 era, it was a great magazine back then. I can't really say much for it now, as I haven't looked at one in over a year. I wish I could find my old ones again...

The US Gamepro doesn't have to do anything to do with the German one, though. (Just the name is the same) Here in Germany there was also an old Gamepro. After they went bancrupt, another publisher brought out this new Gamepro.
