Has anyone ever taken advantage of the netplay feature built into a lot of emulators these days? if so, what did you think of it? I was playing Tengen Tetris with a friend last night, and it was working great. then we tried Gauntlet II, and River City Ransom, but it kept getting out of sync.

I didn't even realize that there was such a feature.
It sounds very interesting.

It sounds very interesting. When it worked properly it was great, it's just as if one person is the first player, and one is the second, but instead of being in the same room, they can be on the other side of the world :)
