Has anyone here passed up a good find ?What and why ?
I have-before I got into collecting I was at a local flea market that sets up every weekend in the summer and this guy had a bunch of nes games. Mostly regular nes games but he had a few weird ones with no labels and holes cut in the cart. At the time I was like who would buy those? Now I sit here a few years later and I could kick myself for not knowing what they could have possobly been.

I passed up Isolated Warrior.

It was in a bin of NES games. I just picked it up, saw the cover, and tossed it back in the bin.

Thats good you didn't buy it. I got mine complete off ebay for 5 dollars shipped. Also, the one EB games by me has that game for 10 dollars, so I think you made the right choice  .

I once passed up a Codemaster's Fire Hawk for Soccer :x . Why? I thought it had a FC-->NES converter. The store was about to close as well, so I only had a few seconds to decide.

About 2 days ago I passed up Zombie Nation for $5. I'm going back to the store today and crossing my fingers that they still have it.

Also when I was much younger I chose TMNT3 - The Manhattan Project over TMNT - Tournament Fighters. At that time I was just looking for a fun game to play, not considering rarity.

I'm sure there have been some in the past, none spring to mind. I did once pass on a few NES games a while ago, before the retro gaming "fad" started, so I think I could have gotten them for cheap.

My turn:

I really had hard times to find the Famicom game
(rare in America - but not so in Japan) Kamen no Ninja
Hanamaru. It is the real YONOID! version, where the
hero is a masked ninja with a falcon, instead of a
long ears jerk carrying a yo-yo.

Got the game, and it is still here in my collection.
Few time later, I came across a new copy, and instantly
I bought it too, wondering that it could be a great
sale here in Brazil's Mercado Livre (equivalent of eBay).

But soon I got the cart, some thoughts came to my mind.
Why should sell this game, if it is rare, it's great, and
there are a lot of friends of mine who would love
to have it in theirs collection? People who will really
play it?

So, I put in a box and send as surprise to a friend
of mine. HE LOVED the gift.

Several times it is better to GIVE the game to
a good person instead of sell it to a fool that
will throw the cart in a cold shelf not paying
attention to it...

People who just BUY-FOR BUYING, not for playing...
This is my opinion!

Today i went to a flea market and there was a guy with a NES. I asked him if he hasn't got any games. He said that some guy bought all his games at 1 Euro/game (1.18USD/game). He sad he had 35 games

I missed out on a copy of Skies Of Arcadia Legends today, by about 3 minutes. I've wanted it for ages.
