This seems highly unlikely.

that idea pretty much sucks. you won't be able to rent games, or borrow from a friend. so how do you know if a game is worth your money? there'll be no way to try it before buying it. sales will be horrible. there is no way the PS3 will have a long life, noone will be able to play the damn thing in 10 years from now.

Exactly what I wanted to say.
No company can be so stupid.
But SUPPOSEDLY, if they were so stupid this would be the end of the era Playstation. Even a lot of fanboys wouldn't buy such a crooked hardware.

A lot? I doubt any fanboy would stick by Sony. I'm of the opinion that loyalty goes down the toilet when said loyalists are being actively screwed.

If what Sony is gonna do is true...then this marks the fall of Sony in the gaming industry...time for a new king to rise again. And...also if its true..im gonna have to get a Revolution...

Sorry for the language.

If there are no used games, hardware sales will go down the hill.
It's just a desperate attempt to justify their overpriced stuff. Blame it on the used games. :?

Those were my thoughts exactly.

It stinks for those who will buy one.
Also, if I get a game 2nd hand that I enjoy, i'm more likely to buy the sequel, at full price, more than I would have if I hadn't picked up the prequel cheap.

Thats true with me too. I picked up Kingdom Hearts used, and right after I beat it, I reserved the second one.

It happened to me with GTA 3. Got it second hand, then reserved Vice City for when it was released.

I'm sure there are some rich fanboys who don't buy used games anyway. Those might stick to Sony.

Sorry to 'jack the thread (well, only kinda hijacking) but Sony is killing Aibo! Evil heartless Sony bastards. So now I woudln't be surprised if they screwed over the consumer. Now people have these $2000 dogs and won't be able to get parts easily (unless they are scoping Ebay). Now that just plain sucks. :x

Who's retarded enough to buy one of those in the first place?

If I was sleeping in pillow cases stuffed with money I would.
Some people are allergic to animals and that's the closest thing they'll ever get to companionship.

Nobody is allergic to animals, they can be allergic to fur and other aspects of certain animals, but there are many solutions, hairless cats, hamsters...

or... you know, don't be a lame ass and find human companionship.

Yes, that's true.
It may be a nice, overpriced toy, but nothing more.
People who throw out 2k$ for such a toy don't need sympathy for not getting parts any more. They should have enough money to pay the guy who wants 100$ for a 50c piece.

They were also using Aibo in hospitals for therepy. So it wasn't only just a toy for rich people.

BTW, I know it isn't "technically" the animals they are allergic to, it is the PET DANDER (not the fur).

Especially for therapy they should use real animals... that's just my opinion though.

I think I'd like aibo if it was a cat. :P

It's probably for the hospitals that are for germaphobes. (Sadly real animals do carry germs)

A cat aibo would be funny! I would get one just to drive my cats bonkers! (Which reminds me of a story that will skew this a bit off topic). I was watching on Animal Planet the kitty half time show (instead of the Super Bowl halftime show) and they had all these super cute kitties playing with jingliy toys. My cats started watching it and were trying to find where the "jingle" sound was coming from! One even tried to attack the tv.

So you can imagine the fun I would have driving them crazy.

OKKKAYY...... Just to inform you $ony wont but that incription on the PS3. MS said they would do that eariler and they didnt remember??........ Some one said that if they did this then $ony would tumble.. Highly unlikly because fanboys are fanboys and no matter what they still will buy the games new and still will by the ps4 and 5 and 6 whenever they come out.
i dont know how to quote but uber newb said that not even $ony is that stupid but they are. Remeber Beta? Remeber Mini Disk? The formats were superior to VHS and CDs BUT!!!! sony and its partners got gready and put on rediculos patent laws and other making them the only ones to be ablew to produce teh equiptment and they over priced for everything and VHS and CDs became the winners in the format war. Top heads in $ony know that if they put in to strickt anti piracy laws on the Blu-Ray disks then it will also flop so thats why the Blu-Ray disks were held back because they had problems with there over ANTI-PIRACY protection system on teh disks and players!!
just some food for thought
