I know this isn't the proper place for this, but since most people will look here first, I'll put it here.

When posting please keep in mind that we have several users from different non-english speaking countries.

so please remember this when posting:

- Use some form of punctuation. (I know mine isn't accurate a lot of the time, so I'm only saying to use some form :P)

-refrain from using acronyms such as "TY" some people don't know what they mean.

-please proof-read before posting, spelling errors or other such misplacements can make it hard to make sense of posts.

A full stop at the end of sentences would be a good start. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it should be readable at first attempt.

It's true, there's quite a few non-English speaking posters on the forum from places like Spain, Germany, Norway, Virginia, and Erie PA.

We'll just have to try our best to understand them.
(I understand manuel fairly well though.)

That's good. I'm always doing my best. 8) That's why everybody else should do so, too.
For now, this forum is the only place to polish up my English (it used to be better...).

I'm not sure how you speak it, but you sure write English better than half the people in the USA, that's for sure. The US seems to have a junk load of people with little to no interest in their own education. At least SOMEBODY knows how to speak English! (i.e. manuel :D)

Thank you very much. I'm really happy reading such lines. You made my normal day a great day. :D
It was as good as the day when my friend Scott from the states made me "honorary native English speaker".
(I was better a year before. Now I have to search inside my head for words that just won't come out when I need them. It's getting better again, as I'm now posting and reading here every day. I hope this won't interere with my Japanese and Chinese...)

That's the same here in Germany. Especially on the internet, people seem to just have forgotten all orthography and punctuation, that they *should* have learned one time.

It just makes the site look alot better. Also when a new person shows up, if they see a bunch of illiterate looking posts, they may be more apt to leave. It's just easier on the eyes. Also, the Internet IS world-wide. People who are abroad and know English won't be able to recognize broken grammmar, that's not how they learn it... Just something to think about...

It's because intelligent people like conversations with other intelligent people.
I think it's polite to others when you take care of a proper punctuation and write in a way everybody can understand.

"Why should you take the time to sound intelligent?" was all I meant.

That's not exactly the definition of "coherency".
This is about making posts that readers will be able to "understand" and have a sense of "logic" to their construction, not so much about "sounding intelligent".

if you're going to quote a post with images in it, PLEASE CHANGE THE tags to http:// and , it makes things much nicer looking, and makes the thread much easier to read and load for those on dial-up connections.

But we have to make exceptions for when any "quoted" pictures contain either A) Karnov, B) Mullets, C) Dancing NES characters, or D) Dancing Karnovs with Mullets, because of course, these are all images that deserve to be seen more than once in a post.

Can you dig it!?!

Sweet!

Also, I've been cleaning up the forums a bit... if anyone has noticed their post count down by a few numbers, it's because I've been sticking the double/triple posts together to make one post... Please try to refrain from double posting.... it takes awhile to fix it all.

I'll delete the post below this in two days to give people time to read this message...

Thanks.

Maybe you guies should have this sticky in the other forums. It's true this is the first place most people will look but thats not going to be true for everyone.

Also, I knew manuel was from Germany, I never thought he was a real German. I thought he just had a father who moved their via military job or somthing.

Also, he does have a great deal of good english. You could hardly tell he is German.
