"Region-free gaming with PS3 Global revolution on the cards for Sony's next-gen super-console [10/11/2005 15] PlayStation 3 could be a region-free console when it launches next year, according to Michael Ephraim, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia's managing director. Sony's own PSP is region-free - the machine itself is not restricted to UK, US or Japanese software, allowing you to purchase UMDs from anywhere in the world. Ephraim predicts that PS3 could follow in this direction. "If you look at the fact that it will support high-definition TV, which will be a global standard, there's a good likelihood that it will be a global region, as we've done with PSP," reasoned Ephraim. We contacted representatives for Sony in the UK, but were informed that they were making "no official comment". PS3 is expected to be released in the UK in late 2006" Read more of this story here: http://www.gamesradar.com/news/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=37942&subsectionid=2524

I think that this alone should debunk the other rumor. At least there is someone from Sony actually saying this one. :D http://www.myspace.com/jennikisaI need friends.... I had to nix Tom. He wasn't really my friend. His smile "mocked" me.

Maybe if it goes down to 50 pence, then i'll get one  I'd much rather get a Revolution and 360.

Playing games from all regions without hassles? That's cool. That could make me a PS3 buyer... perhaps.
Personally I don't think they pull that "no-used-games" joke. They (should) know that rentals and used stuff are vital for them.
