OK, I'm not a fanboy, but a lot of those points are just not valid.

No Legend of Zelda, or Metroid Prime?

the same could be said about the Revolution... no Halo, or GTA.

The controller will change everything? Just like the Powerglove did, right? (it is essentially the same thing...)

True backward compatibility... Nintendo has to emulate everything older than the Gamecube, and you can bet that not even the Cube will go perfectly. so every bad thing they have to say about the 360 emulating the Xbox games can be said about the revolution emulating the N64/SNES/NES. The Gamecube code can be executed on the Revolution's CPU, and the GPU is made by the same manufacturer, but that doesn't mean it'll go flawlessly.

Revolution WILL be cheaper? says who? nobody has confirmed anything about the price on the revolution... we have more speculation being presented as fact...

Girls and Grandpas will play the Revolution...

"Microsoft's new console is designed from the ground up to appeal to hardcore gamers" Yeah, with all of those neat little puzzle games in the Xbox Live Arcade... those were designed for hardcore Halo 3 fans... Also, no games have been announced for the Revolution yet, so honestly, this argument is nullified as well, and the 360 edges out in this area.

Limited funds and quantities? Well, I do assume the revolution will be cheaper, but I'm not going to present that as fact, as was done in this article. but they're falsly inflating the cost of the 360... "Add in a second wireless controller, a network adapter, and a handful of games, and the platform could set you back as much as $1,000 smackers." Who on a limited budget buys a "handful of games" at launch? especially after dumping $400 ($500 CDN) into a console? Network adapter? what? the 360 has a built in Ethernet port... no adapter needed...

As for the quantites, that remains to be seen as well. the shortage with the 360 is due to the worldwide release within short periods of each other.

Same games, prettier graphics...

OK, when can I go buy PGR3, or Perfect Dark Zero for my Xbox? how about Kameo?

In closing, ignore these trash articles, do your research and form your own opinions. IGN clearly lies and has no idea what they're talking about.

Gah. NES Luke beat me to it.

Seeing as it's written by a Nintendo lover, it's hardly going to be trust worthy.
Also, 2 of the points are about games the 360 won't have. What about the games the revolution won't have?
It's unfair to even write up this article when the 360 has just come out and the revolution hasn't, and some of it is based on speculation. (i.e price)
Although the controller looks good/could be intresting, it could prove to be crap.

edit. I should add i'm not an xbox fan boy.

Though I'm not a fan of Xbox, I don't think the new one is as "horrible" as this person makes it out to be.

As a side note (slightly off topic), I thought this was silly, my work got this huge shipper display of the Xbox 360 stuff (face plates, games, remotes, controllers ect) but they never got in the actual Xbox.

Ok, I am not an Xbox fan... whatever. I really have no prefrence in systems at all. Each console has it's share of good games. To each his own, right? This article absolutely outraged me. Mainly the
Quote:
#5. Revolution Will Be a Lot Cheaper
It comes back to price. Do you want to pay $400 and up for your videogame system? If the answer is no then you should skip 360 and wait for Revolution. Nintendo's future console will ship at a price point hundreds of dollars cheaper than competitors. We don't have official numbers yet, but early word from analysts, developers and even Nintendo itself is that a mass market price is absolutely integral for Revolution's launch. Some have speculated that the console could debut at under $200 big ones, which seems to be the magic number for the majority of consumers.

Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing Nintendo in any way, but the Revolution hasn't even been officially announced yet! How does this person know that it's going to launch at under $200?

This article is completly speculatory, and full of biases. Please, do not pay attention to this article, and form your own opinions.

I found the article quite amusing.
It's an article from a Nintendo-fan's point of view. So I find it ok. There are lots of articles out there that bash again Nintendo.

And there are a lot of true things in the article.
The 360 won't have a Zelda. That's a fact. :P And behind this the author probably wanted to say that no game as great as a Zelda will be available for the other consoles. Cameo may be great, but it's not as great as a Zelda game. (That's what many journalists say who already played Cameo)

Another point. I'm sure grandpas would rather play games on Nintendo consoles. Come on, it's true there are no games announced yet, but Nintendo has a history up to now and they will carry that on. Also on the Revolution there will be many games aimed at families, unexperienced gamers.
You have to admit, somebody who is not interested in videogames would probably rather play Mario and jump around a bit than shoot enemies in Halo or something.

Come on, there are more than 15 years between the power glove and the new controller. Technology has changed and I'm sure you can't say that it got worse. No, technology has improved and I'm 120% sure that the Revolution controller will be better to handle than the Power Glove.

Someone who is uninterested in video games would likely rather play simple yet addictive little puzzle games, which the 360 offers in the Live Arcade. Something Nintendo has made no mention of. And until we determine just how this backward compatibility is going to go, the 360 wins here.

As for the controller... I am excited about it too, it COULD be fantastic. but unless Nintendo convinces some third parties to think that way, it's just going to be a gimmicky piece of crap, and the console will have no good games.

Everyone must admit that Nintendo hasn't been building a lot of relationships with third parties.

But again, for little simplistic puzzle games you won't need a 400$ console...

Let's just wait until all the combatants (consoles) are out and then talk on. It makes no sense to talk about winners now.

Seems to me Nintendo has gottan a lot of 3rd party support as far as the DS, and many 3rd party companys have already said they would like to support the rev.

I can't wait to see waht Nintendo will have the DS be able to do with the rev. Since they both have wifi no cables, it would be hella easyer to connect.

Okay, I know that I've said this before, but I don't think the issue was really addressed.

I don't think that anyone should put all their eggs in one basket. What people need to do is forget pre-ordering anything. We need to sit back, go without "the" big games for a while, and wait until all three systems come out.

For this console war, we need to be looking at which console is consistently getting better games.

Most of the reasons are biased, but some of them prove good points, like the part about backwards compatibility. According to a list made by wikipedia, it will be compatible with 213 US games, 156 European games, and 12 Japanese games. I believe the Xbox has an amount of games in the high 400's, but don't quote me on this.
