Actually, on my return a month after posting the above reply, I have more. DDR and Mario were two things I used to thank God for having them not be combined. Seriously, in bed I would like go "Thank's God, for not combining the best games in the world with the worst." Then Satan somehow got a hold of the situation. Suddenly, Shigeru Miyamoto becomes his meat puppet and DDR Mario Mix comes out, and brinking me on the edge of homicidal tendensies. From what I can gather, there's an unusual version of the old underwater song, plus (you ready for this?)
XTREME MOZART!!! All probable misspellings aside, that took it too far. I went completely postal, then I decided to rant on every gaming forum I could find. And now I'm here... again.

just remember DDR isnt the worst game, Shaq-Fu is, and also now you know........

I hate it but they do it mainly for...thats right people $$$$$$. Everyone knows who mario is so the big N is gonna milk him for all hes worth. Not to mention they should make another brothers game with platforming. Im still waiting for a "Super Mario Brothers 4." And i hope the one they are making on DS will be good

I bought Dancing Stage Mario Mix, because it was in a sale.

But I don't use it. It went straight on eBay to make a little profit from it. :)

I think if a game is really good it doesn't matter what characters it features... but that's just my 2 cents. I'm not much into DDR games, so I'm not interested really. :)

Were you guys ALIVE in the 80's? If anything, Nintendo's Mario-whoring is at an all-time low. Nintendo used to have more stuff with their name and/or characters stamped all over it than every other company combined, I'm pretty sure. Nintendo was definitely an ENTITY, and not only did Mario appear on everything from breakfast cereals to bedspreads to toothbrushes, he cameod in more games than many of us know.

Oh, and Mario sports games are always light hearted and fun. Give it a rest.

And I don't appreciate all the DDR bashing.

I dunno, I like the mario kart, and soccer ones, it's nice to see somthing you grew up with is still popular, so one day when you're 50, you can still relate to your kids!

Listen buddy, I jumped on the pole to get to the princess, nothing more, nothing less!

Pretty much how I feel on the subject. If someone doesn't like Mario being used so much then that's fair enough, but I don't get why people are acting as if this is a new phenomenon. The modern sports games are just a continuation of the NES titles and he has always made strange cameos, like in Sim City where you had to protect your city from Bowser who was wrecking the city looking for Mario.

Shaq-fu and moon walker. I just give moon walker credit for being funny. But I call DDR a worst game because it has plunged america into a nightmare world.

AND I'm not saying this is a new thing, the spin-offs. I'm just saying that they have just now gone too far and that the original ones were tolerable. I even remember a Mario soda line. The whole super merchandizing brothers era was actually nessesary to get Mario to the world, but now that everyone knows him, it just really sucks.

By the way: I still do hate DDR no mater how much people hate me for that. And you would probably say: "You hate DDR because you cant dance, Muffinman, you jerk!" But when you think about it... no that really, really isn't it.

It really isn't.

If you think you're right, you're probably wrong.
If you think you're wrong, you're being negative.
My thoughts are definitive; the universe is frequently wrong.

NEVER speak ill of Moonwalker.

Accurate FM synthed versions of such classics as "Smooth Criminal" and "Beat it" make the game an instant classic.

Personally, after playing Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS, and New Super Mario Bros DS, on my friend's system, I can't be happier with what they've done to Mario.

Yes. At least they're keeping him around, instead of letting him die out like other Nintendo characters such as--should I say it again?--Kid Icarus. After seeing there was a game called "Super Mario RPG," I had my doubts, but once again, I was surprised by the level of fun in the game. Same is true of Mario Kart, which I just got into, and my wife keeps insisting I try Mario Golf. Mario will forever rule.

I need friends.... I had to nix Tom. He wasn't really my friend. His smile "mocked" me.

Get it when the DS' price drops, and it starts getting bundled with numerous games, like with the Gamecube. That's what I'm doing.

There's also a chance that there will be a DS lite and New Super Mario Bros. bundle, maybe with a limited edition DS. Of course, when the Lite comes out in the US (if it hasn't) it will probably drive down the prices of the original DS, particularly the second hand ones.

June 11th, officially. But some stores have broken the street date, and it was available yesterday.

It comes out three weeks tommorrow over here, but it's likely some branches may sell it a couple of days before hand. And the new super mario comes out in a month, so i'm going to have to wait 5/6 weeks before getting the two. :x
