well one of my friend has only owned his for a couple years and his 4th controller socket just doesnt work....

I can almost bet they'll do something about it, and quite possibly for free even though the warranty period is up. Nintendo has always been cool for that.

yeah well thats his decision to make lol i doubt he will try to get it repaired....

for old systems, i think the original NES controller is the best, for new systems, i like the gamecube controller, except for the small ass D-pad

worst controller for old systems is probly the atari controllers, for newer systems it's a tie between n64 and xbox..... the n64 controllers feel like they were made with cheap materials, they break easily, the joystick hurts your thumb after playing for a little while, and it's too spread out, the xbox controller wouldn't be so bad if it wasnt so damn big

Really? I didn't feel the N64 controller to be so bad. I actually still like it. :) Never had problems with it.

It seems like a lot of people didn't like the N64 controller but I think it's one of the best. At first it was a bit strange the way you had to hold it but it soon felt normal.

Talking of cheap materials parts I'm not a big fan of the shoulder buttons on the Gamecube pad. Feels like they've been stuck on with cheap glue and are about to fall out.

The cube shoulder buttons are hard to use, especially the Z button.
But again, when you grow accustomed to it, it's a good controller.

I would say that the worst controller for me is the ps1 first edition controller before dual shock. I have long fingers so the my fingers wrapped around the edges and it was uncormfatble to me but the dual shock controller is very pleasing

I'd have to say that GameCube does have the best controller, followed VERY closely by PS2 DualShock. I think the worst controller is a tie between N64 and XBox, particularly because they appear to have been designed for people with hands the size of a small dog.

I think the Game Cube's pad is damn near perfect. I think the N64 pad feels and looks revolting and I was never a fan of the Sega Master System pad, particularily the direction pad.

I have to say Gamecube does have a great design, but I also think the N64 controller was great. I found it quite comfortable.

I personally like the N64 controller; yes it's a bit off at first, but you grow to appreciate it.
I personally love the PS2 and GC controllers. (plus you can get them in fun colours).
I really really really don't like the Xbox controller (that's why I never bought an Xbox, lameass controller) and I really really really really hate the Dreamcast controller. I think a drunk person (whom also was sniifing modeling glue) who pulled an all nighter at sega came up with the layout on it (the little card dealy you put in the top is cool, the rest sucks). It's not that I have small girly hands either; those controller are just not made for humans; maybe they tested them on chimpanzees?

That's a really nice controller. I'll have to see if there's not a used one for sale in Japan. I'd love to have that.
