Well, I noticed we don't have a topic for this game, so here goes! :P
I recently got this game in the mail, and it's an awesome game! Very fun... let it be known that it's not based off of the NES version what-so-ever. Story, levels, enemies... all different. The only real similarities are the invincible fire-wheel, Ryu as the main character... hmmm... that's about it that I can think of off the top of my head. The great thing is that it's still a great game!
The cinema screens aren't all that impressive, mainly the bosses taunting Ryu before each level. It's still cool to see some cinema though, which makes it feel more GaiDen-like. The enemies in the game are more along the lines of traditional... not alot of demon type stuff. They're mainly ninja, samurai... things of that nature until the final level. Psh! How could I forget to mention the birds! That's the other similarity, only they're MUCH MUCH faster on this version :shock: At one point there are even five or six of them rushing at you at once... needless to say, you're probably going to get hit :P
You can grab underneath things and hang, but you can't move back-and-forth while hanging. You can't attach to the walls, but you can jump off of them like in SunSoft's Batman for the NES. The whole game is fast paced, and Ryu is pretty quick. Overall a great game... I'd recommend it to anyone who needs an 8-bit platform fix, awesoime game! Anyone else ever play this?
