Hi all, my first post, i have a question for you, basically i know a UK Pal SNES runs at 50Hz and therefore it is 17% slower than an NTSC one but i am trying to find out if this is the same for a UK NES?
Do UK NES' also run slower than their american counterparts and if so is it possible to mod them to run at 60Hz like i have read you can for a SNES?
Thanks a lot
Ric

I think you can just do a standard overclock mod for your NES. http://forums.nesfiles.com/viewtopic.php?t=110

One way you could test is to load an NTSC ROM into an emulator, and set the emulator to PAL emulation... that should work, I think. I never tried that, maybe I will :) If you do, use an accurate emulator. Nintendulator is very accurate, and I've heard the same about Nestopia. http://robertlbryant.com

Cheers,
Ric To my knowledge it does, as I've heard tell of the music in Castlevania II being very different in the PAL regions.

Hi all again, thanks for the resonse
Yes i checked with an emulator, the Pal nes runs sooo slow compared to an NTSC one, it kind of angers me that Nintendo made me grow up playing games so much clower than they were intended to be played!
